The aim of the session is to assist participants in developing a substantially approvable CTE program or program of study application in this career cluster by the end of the day. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Office of CTE state staff as well as colleagues from other school districts and learn about tools and resources related to the career cluster. This will provide participants with an enhanced understanding of the components of a quality CTE program or program of study. It is recommended that participants bring the following materials to the workshop: course descriptions and/or course syllabi and/or curriculum; listing of specific business/labor partnerships; listing of specific structured learning experiences (SLEs); copies of existing articulation agreements with postsecondary institutions; listing of any related assessments/credentials; description of the academic support services and programs offered to students to support, accelerate or enhance academic performance that are applicable to the CTE program or program of study; laptop computer and power strip or battery pack sufficient for the entire day (power strips and extension cords will not be provided onsite); copy of re-approval application (electronic or paper) downloadable from the NJDOE website at: http://www.nj.gov/education/cte/study/approval/appre/ A listing of approved CTE programs can be found on the NJDOE website at: http://www.state.nj.us/education/cte/pubvoc.htm CTE program re-approval applications in this career cluster are due to the Office of CTE by December 21, 2012.
