The Manasquan School District is a Pre-K – 12 school district located in southern Monmouth County with one elementary school, (Pre-K – 8) and one high school serving approximately 1625 students. Founded in 1894, the district graduated its first high school class in 1895 and has continued to provide a comprehensive educational program in an environment that encourages independent thinking and problem solving skills. Our students benefit from a program that offers academic, social, athletic and artistic opportunities through our course offerings as well as a broad co-curricular program.
Manasquan High School receives students from seven sending districts; Avon Belmar, Brielle, Lake Como, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights, as well as our Manasquan Elementary students. Our Board of Education consists of twelve members, nine of whom are elected from Manasquan and one each from the three largest sending districts, Belmar, Brielle and Spring Lake Heights. With an enrollment slightly less than a thousand students, the high school is able to offer a comprehensive program including honors and advanced courses and a variety of elective courses. The district continues to integrate technology into regular use in our classrooms with interactive white boards and video projectors in most instructional areas.
All of our professional staff are “highly qualified” having met all of the NCLB requirements to attain that status. The district provides extensive opportunities for professional development with programs offered in the district as well as supporting staff participation in programs provided by outside organizations. The Manasquan School District is compliant with all state mandates and the curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Standards. Parents are encouraged to participate in school activities and active Parent-Teacher Organizations in both schools help to develop a strong working relationship with the community.
A dedicated staff of secretaries and aides as well as a custodial and grounds staff provide the support necessary for our programs to be successful. The Board of Education Business Office manages the fiscal operation of the district ensuring our students a solid instructional program at a reasonable cost to the taxpayers of Manasquan. The Board of Education, Faculty, Staff and the Manasquan Community are committed to providing an educational program that prepares our students for success in their future careers and to take their place as productive members of society.
