Hackettstown High School serves the communities of Hackettstown, Allamuchy, Independence, and Liberty. Students in grades nine through twelve enjoy a (comprehensive) program of academics and co-curricular activities. A wide variety of courses are offered ranging from the creative and practical arts to advanced mathematics and science.
Hackettstown High School offers an environment that has tradition, pride and the goal of academic excellence at its base. Students are challenged by our caring, compassionate and dedicated teachers on a daily basis, creating a rigorous academic environment where student achievement is realized both in and out of the classroom.
Our academic curriculum includes over 120 courses including advanced placement and honors level offerings. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn college level credits in a number of different courses in dual credit programs with Warren County Community College, County College of Morris, and Seton Hall University. We are also part of an exciting partnership with Centenary College, which is also located in Hackettstown. In this partnership, Hackettstown High School students can enroll in college courses on the Centenary campus free of charge for high school credit, and earn college credit for these courses as well.
Our participation in Virtual High School provides an additional opportunity for students to enroll in over 250 elective courses and interact with other students throughout the world. On-line educational activities are also utilized for curriculum remediation, enrichment, credit recovery and home instruction.
Hackettstown High School operates on an eight block, rotating five period-per-day schedule. Periods are approximately sixty minutes in length. Each class meets five times in an eight day period of time During the 42 minute unit lunch our students may avail themselves of the opportunity to visit the library, computer labs, obtain subject area tutoring, make up missed work, work on class assignments, get extra help from teachers, or attend meetings of our many co-curricular activities.
As a member of the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference, the Hackettstown Tigers compete in football, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, field hockey, girls volleyball, competition cheerleading, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, boys and girls fencing, baseball, softball, boys and girls track and field and golf. In addition to athletics, students may participate in an outstanding fine and performing arts program, author literary publications, engage in student government, provide community service, and participate in many other clubs and activities.

Hackettstown High School provides a warm, nurturing environment within which the students can learn, grow, and develop the skills necessary to flourish in a dynamic society.
