The Ramsey Public Schools have a well-earned reputation for excellence and have garnered recognition at the county, state, and national levels. Ramseys 3100 students are educated in our two K-3 primary schools, one 4-5 upper primary school, a middle school for grades 6-8, and a comprehensive high school for grades 9-12. In addition to serving the residents of Ramsey, the District also educates the students of Saddle River in grades 6-12 through a send-receive relationship.
Ramsey is a great place to live and raise a family. It is a community where the town officials work cooperatively with the school district for the benefit of young people; a community that is supportive of its schools yet holds those schools to high standards; a community, that through its schools and its community-based programs offers its young children and teens a wealth of opportunities to grow and flourish.
As is the case with many surrounding communities, Ramsey has seen a rise in enrollment over the past decade. That increase in enrollment coupled with mandated programs that have an impact on facilities led to the need for more instructional space. As a result of these needs, the community has supported classroom, science lab and facility upgrades on four of five school buildings along with the construction of a new grade 4-5 elementary school that replaced a 1912 structure. Additional enhancement projects have provided for upgrade of computer servers, broadening of the computer system backbone, integration of wireless technology, full internet connectivity of the Districts 950 computers, installation of interactive white board technology and implementation of an I Pad technology initiative. Each of these enhancements have furthered The Ramsey Public Schools goal of preparing students with skills and strategies that will help them to be good citizens, successful problem solvers and critical thinkers in the 21st Century.
