Our language arts program at all grade levels strives to instill a love of reading while also developing strong writing skills.
The infusion of Technology into daily lessons provides students with many opportunities to utilize Technology as a meaningful and effective educational tool to better prepare them for the technological world in which we live.
For students who may need academic, social or emotional support, our school provides a full time child study-team, elementary and middle school guidance counselors, English as a Second Language, occupational and physical therapy, special education programming and related services.
Besides the strong core subject area experiences, students are exposed to the visual and performing arts, family and consumer sciences, health and physical education programs and activities and a full array of after school extra-curricular activities for students ranging from elementary Drama and Cooking Clubs to elementary and middle school chess clubs, an instrumental music program that includes a school band, jazz band and string orchestra, ski club and various athletic teams.
Academically, Bedminster utilizes a 5 year curriculum revision cycle which allows us to maintain vigorous and up-to-date programs that are aligned with the latest NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and in the fall of 2012, with the Common Core Standards.
The foundation for achieving excellence is evident through the Board of Educations steadfast support of small class sizes, technology as an instructional tool and continued teacher professional growth.
Our faculty members are committed to the constant improvement of their instructional skills and the acquisition of new strategies that are supported by an intensive plan of professional development, self-reflection and collaboration.
Bedminsters Board is firm in its resolve to embrace the shared values of the community and encourages community input for strategic planning and decisions about educational programs. Stakeholders are well represented on many school district committees such as the Technology Steering Committee, the Municipal Alliance, Gifted/Talented Advisory Committee, Before and Aftercare committee and the Governors Teacher Recognition Committee.
The backbone to our outstanding parental involvement though, is the Parent Teacher Organization, whose members have been tremendously helpful with time, talent and resources. They have supported the school by enhancing academic programs, providing special programs and activities such as theater and musical performances, the Harlem Wizards, Field Day and many holiday celebrations.
After graduation from the 8th grade, the majority of our students attend Bernards High School. We work closely with their teaching staff and administration to ensure that our curriculum is fully articulated and that our students receive the highest level of preparation for their secondary school experience.
For all of the aforementioned reasons, we are proud that Bedminster Township Public School is considered to be one of the top NJ Schools.
